Many years ago, several companies offered cigar ring gauge measuring tools to the general public. For some reason, over time these went by the wayside.
Well, we decided to bring them back because we thought they were cool.
Instead of bringing back the cheap plastic injection molded ones or the bulky metal ones, we decided to bring the cigar ring gauge tool into the future by laser cutting them from high-grade acrylic.
The same laser machine that cuts these out, also laser etches the lettering.
READ THE NEXT LINE BEFORE ORDERING
The lettering is laser etched under the surface of the acrylic. What that means is that you cannot rub the lettering off. It will be there forever.
Is there a benefit to doing that? Yes. It means you don’t have to be gentle with this. You can scratch the surface, you can clean it however you want, and the lettering will always be there.
Is there a downside to laser etching under the surface? Yes. The lettering can look a little faded or dull because you are looking through the surface to see the lettering underneath.
By laser etching below the surface, it leaves the ring gauge tool completely smooth and there is no chance any of the lettering can rub off or get scratched off.
We do have the same ring gauge tool laser cut from black anodized aluminum. The lettering is laser etched through the black anodizing showing the lettering in brilliant silver.
You can pick that up on our website here.
These have holes starting from 32 ring gauge and going to 90 ring gauge. The measuring line guide on the side goes up to 9 inches.
